GSAP on a Portfolio Site

Scroll reveals, SVG text, and intro loaders that feel premium without feeling heavy.

A portfolio is a timed performance. GSAP gives you a conductor’s baton: intros, scroll reveals, SVG strokes, and micro-interactions that feel intentional.

On my site, the opening loader counts up, reveals GANESH letter by letter, draws an SVG line, then splits away. It sets tone before the hero speaks.

ScrollTrigger ties motion to reading pace. Section bands with SVG text drift as you move, connecting Projects, About, and Blogs without heavy page weight.

Custom cursors and magnetic links are optional spice. They must degrade gracefully on touch devices and respect reduced-motion preferences.

The failure mode of GSAP portfolios is excess. If everything moves, nothing matters. Pick three signature moments and keep the rest quiet.

Performance still counts. Kill timelines on unmount. Avoid layout thrash. Test mid-range laptops, not only your gaming machine.

Motion should make visitors remember your name — not remember that they waited for animations to finish.
